I Am A WEN Girl:
What does it mean to be a WEN Girl?  Well, for me, it means that I no longer use shampoos to cleanse my hair.  I use WEN by Chaz Dean Cleansing Conditioner in Fig to cleanse my hair. I use Fig because it is supposed to me the most moisturizing of all the formulations.  If I were to create a Holy Grail list of products I use this cleansing conditioner would have a spot at the top of my list. WEN is described as “a revolutionary step toward beautiful, healthy, shiny hair. WEN cleansing conditioners replace shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, leave-in conditioner, and even shaving cream.”
After using WEN for over 6 months I can safely say that it definitely cleanses my hair and I have not experienced any build up.  To get the full benefits of the cleansing conditioner you have to use as directed. Depending on your hair length, thickness and texture this could mean using quite a bit of product. I don’t use WEN to replace my deep conditioner or my leave-in.  WEN is also a great detangler.  By the time I have finished cleansing my hair it is fully detangled.  I don’t use WEN to replace my deep conditioner or my leave-in.  I still deep condition my hair every week and I always use a different leave in before applying my styler.  These steps are essential to maintaining moisture in MY hair.
Another great thing that WEN claims and I’ve found to be true is that it doesn’t strip your hair color.  I have dark brown hair and I died my hair 7 months ago to cover up some gray.  Although my gray hairs have grown out and are visible, my dark brown hair is not dull looking. My hair is the same color from the root to the ends with the exception of my gray hairs. Usually after this length of time my hair looks dull.
If you are a person who only uses Silicone-free products then this may not be the product for you because it does contain one silicone: amodimethiconeHere is link to an article that I found quite informative regarding amodimethicone.

I tend to shy away from products that contain silicone, but after reading this article I will let this one slip by.  My main reason for limiting silicone is that I am afraid of build up.  This particular cone resists build up and doesn’t dry my hair out. I can not speak for everyone on this issue so you will have to research and try it out for yourself.
I know many may argue that WEN is expensive.  I will agree but for me, I can justify the cost by the benefits I have experienced. I am not saying you have to go out and buy WEN. Everyone’s hair is different and you have to research for yourself.  I like WEN and have decided to share what I like about it with you.
